Time to start blogging

April 29th, 2009

Hi and welcome to the new blog. Some of you will know that I have launched blogs before. Some for business, some personal. They have come and gone, with a natural progression. Some were before their time. I admit I haven’t exactly been disciplined in writing a personal journal type blog. But over the last few months I have found that I do have quite a bit to say. I spend a lot of time online and I come across a lot of interesting stories; hopefully I can post some of them, and give my own analysis (completely unqualified most of the time) here.

I work in politics, and my passions are technology and business. I’m a Welsh expat, and I’ve lived in London for the last ten years. It’s a great place which gives me a lot of energy and inspiration. I do love the United Kingdom though – there is so much culture, so many amazing personal stories, so many diverse threads that in this century have come together to form a vibrant, exciting 21st century Britain. I’m a bona fide member of the Labour Party, and I’m the Branch Secretary for the Maida Vale branch of the Party. I’ve advised the Party for several years on how we can get the best out of the internet and new media to engage with people and spread our message.

I also love to read, cook (and eat), travel and talk. My interests are so diverse that I’m not going to bore you by listing them. Hopefully over time you will come to know me, through my writing. Excuse me if I go on a bit, and also if sometimes my posts are too short.

That’s it. Welcome, enjoy, please leave your comments and get in touch with me by email, Facebook or whatever.
